Autogenic Training Technique

The autogenic training technique is something everyone should use. I actually felt it working! As I began to breath deeply in and out while thinking to myself: "relax my neck, arms, shoulders". I was surprised that in this state my body began to warm and feel heavy. I was surprised to feel the change take place inside myself. I sat there and enjoyed the peace and warmth that overtook my being. There was a sence of peace in knowing that such a simple technique was so effective. During stressful moments I think that it is possible to take control of your emotions through such a process. When you are aware of your feelings you are able to be in control of you choices, thoughts, and actions. Reducing stress in the body is one of the main ways that you as an individual can maintain your health: breath into more positive health friends!

  1. Danielle you described this exericse completely. I began to relax so much that I started to fall asleep, I hope that's not bad. By removing stress this will help you feel better and more relaxed and this in turn makes you a happier person.

  2. Danielle-this exercise was so easy and it was amazing how fast the warm feeling took over my arms and hands and shoulders. I agree with you that this exercise will help make it possible to control emotions during stressful times.

  3. Danielle, how do you foresee using something like this with your clients? As a massage therapist, do you believe suggesting or using something like this would be easy to do? I know that I am a client who has a VERY HARD time relaxing my body. Is it possible that if my massage therapist used something like this at the same time, I would find even more benefits from massage (which I believe is a life saver by the way)?

  4. Miss Kate, I am already useing this method with my clients. I am always asking them to breath into their pain ad to focus on its release. I think it is easy and it helps them to get back into touch with their bodies. Don't worry your not the only one who has a hard time relaxing...and yes this method does work have your therapist use deep breathing to help you to let go but it is up to you to work on being present enough to recognize your areas of tension and to relax them using this method.
